On a computer: Click a checker and its destination. Tab selects a square or button; Enter confirms. Arrow keys change computer difficulty. 2. On a phone: Tap your checker and a highlighted square. Online opens rooms. Sound effects and music have separate buttons. ## About Checkers The game runs in a browser on a phone, tablet or computer without installing an app. Gold and red pieces sit on a textured table, and you can change the table style while keeping the current position. How do you play? Each side starts with twelve pieces on the dark squares. A man moves one square diagonally forward and can capture both forward and backward. Capturing is compulsory. When several capture sequences are available, you must choose one that takes the greatest number of pieces. Captured pieces remain blockers until the entire sequence ends. A man that finishes its move on the opponent's back row becomes a king. Kings travel diagonally through any number of empty squares. You win by capturing every opposing piece or leaving your opponent without a legal move. The game is drawn when the same position occurs three times with the same side to move. A draw also follows fifteen moves by each side made only with kings, without a capture or a man move. Tap your piece, then tap a highlighted destination. The board shows mandatory captures and whose turn it is. On a computer, use a mouse or move between squares with Tab and confirm with Enter. Three computer difficulty levels let you practice basic moves or work on longer tactical combinations. The hotseat option lets two people take turns on the same board. To play with a friend, choose Online on the game page, create a room and share its code or invitation link. The server validates moves and the result and stores the game state. After a match, Play again opens the lobby for another game. Separate sound effects and music controls let you keep one channel while muting the other. Choose a light or dark appearance and switch between Club, Wood and Tournament table styles. Interface text is available in Polish and English. ## Do I need to install anything No. Checkers runs in the same browser tab you are reading now. There is no store download, no account and no e-mail to give. The game is free and stays free. Your score and progress are saved on your device, not only on our server, so you see your record when you come back. ## Questions about Checkers ### Is Checkers free? Yes.
