CRUNCH gameplay

17 seconds of play recorded in the browser, uncut and not sped up. This is how the game really looks.

What the clip shows

One thumb, the whole screen is the board. Merge blocks until everything crumbles.

What you see in the clip

  • one-thumb controls, the whole screen is the board
  • block merging with chain reactions
  • sound generated live, nothing to download
  • runs offline after the first visit

The clip runs 17 seconds of play and has no sound — the game itself does have sound. One round takes 2–5 minutes, so you see roughly as much as happens at the start.

How it plays

  1. 01

Slide the blocks with your finger or the mouse so that blocks of the same colour touch.

  2. 02

Three touching blocks vanish and pull the next ones along. The longer the chain, the more points.

  3. 03

The game ends when the board fills up to the top. Your record is saved on your device.

How it changes as you play

At first you just merge what you see. Later the board fills faster than you can react and you have to plan two moves ahead: which colour to park and which to touch now so the chain starts moving. Your record jumps the moment you stop playing greedily.

Who this game is for

For anyone with five spare minutes who wants to keep their head busy without committing to a long session. It works in a queue, on a tram and during a coffee break, because a round ends fast and the next one starts with a single tap.

Scores and records

CRUNCH does not send scores to the board yet, so its records stay empty. That is true of every game that does not call the klyo kit — we say so plainly instead of showing a board that will never fill up. The game plays normally; the score just stays on your screen.

Play CRUNCH

Is CRUNCH free?

Yes. CRUNCH runs in your browser for free, with no account and nothing downloaded to your device.

Can I play CRUNCH on a phone?

Yes. CRUNCH works on phones and computers — you open the address and play, exactly as in the clip.

Is my score in CRUNCH saved anywhere?

Not yet. This game does not report a score, so its board stays empty — we do not pretend otherwise.

Where does this recording come from?

From the same game you can play next to it. We record it automatically after every release, so the clip can never show an older version than the one on the page.
