klyo games terms of service

Rules for players and the community: who can have an account, what you may post and add, how moderation and age work, who is responsible for what. Publishing games and developer money are covered by the separate developer terms. The binding text is the Polish version; this page is a faithful summary.

1. Who and what

The klyo games service at games.klyo.pl, the developer tools at dev.klyo.pl, the game addresses g-yourgame.klyo.pl and the klyo games mobile apps are run by Klyo Illia Krasnopolskyi, tax ID 7822656871, seated in Łódź (klyo). A user is anyone who plays, creates an account, posts in the community or adds clips. Playing needs no account and no acceptance of these terms; an account, posts, comments, hearts, following and clips do.

2. One account, two roles

You create an account with an e-mail, a password and an age bracket. One account has two roles: player (hearts, followed developers, posts and comments) and developer (games, clips, stats, settlements). The developer role switches on when you upload your first game or clip and is additionally covered by the developer terms. There are no two registrations and no two passwords: it is one account, only the developer tools live at a separate address, dev.klyo.pl, so that the place you play and the place you work do not mix. You get there from your profile in one click, without signing in again. These terms apply at both addresses.

You pick the name shown on posts yourself; it must not impersonate a person, a company or klyo, contain profanity or addresses. You are responsible for everything that happens on the account; do not share the password. You delete the account from the profile or by writing to kontakt@klyo.pl; your posts disappear from view immediately and technical copies after 30 days.

3. Age

An account can be created by a person aged 13 or more. Users aged 13–15 confirm a parent's or guardian's consent; their account is restricted: comments are reviewed before publication, games and posts rated above 12 are hidden, and posts cannot be signed with personal data. Children under 13 may play but cannot create an account. A false age is a reason to close the account.

Every game carries an age label (3, 7, 12, 16 or 18) from the developer's IARC-style questionnaire. 18+ games are hidden for accounts under 18 and for visitors without an account. Safe mode in the profile also hides everything above 12, comments included.

4. What is allowed in the community and clips

The community is about games: questions, playtest requests, launches, links to games on Google Play and the App Store, gameplay clips. Not allowed: profanity and harassment (we check word lists in a dozen languages), spam and repeated pasting, ads for services outside games, erotic content, violence beyond the game's age label, other people's material without the right to it, other people's personal data, malicious links, impersonation, boosting reach with bots. A clip is a recording of your own gameplay (2–30 seconds); do not add other people's videos or music you have no rights to.

New accounts post more slowly: the first posts and comments go through moderation and rate limits are lower. They grow with the age of the account and the absence of reports.

5. Your content: the rights stay yours

By adding a post, comment, photo or clip you grant klyo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it, process it technically (for example compress video to 30 seconds and shrink photos), display it in the service, in the klyo games apps and in link previews, worldwide, for as long as the content is in the service. When you delete it, the licence ends; cached copies and previews published earlier may remain for up to 30 days. You transfer no rights and may publish the same content anywhere else.

5a. Where games come from, and why we do not take anyone else's

A game enters the catalogue two ways: the developer uploads a package from their computer, or moves their own game from the address where it already runs (itch.io, GameJolt, Newgrounds, GitHub Pages, their own server). We move ONLY games the person holds the rights to. Someone else's game may be recommended here with a link — it may not be copied to us.

We ask before fetching, not after. Before anything is downloaded, the person must confirm the game is theirs and that they hold the rights. We record who, when and from which address declared it. Without that the fetch does not start — including when someone bypasses the form and calls us directly.

A declaration is not yet proof, so we provide a way to prove it. Every developer account has its own marker: a short string. The developer pastes it into their game's description on the portal they are moving from, and we check for it while fetching. Whoever controls the game page can add something to it; whoever has no access cannot. Google confirms website ownership the same way in Search Console. The marker can be removed right after the move.

A game moved on a declaration alone works and is visible, but carries „ownership unconfirmed” and does not enter payouts or paid promotion. Money flows only where ownership is confirmed — because money is where the motive to pass off someone else's work appears.

If your game still ends up here uploaded by someone else, write to kontakt@klyo.pl or use Report a violation. We take it down without delay, and the account that uploaded it answers for the consequences. You do not need an account here to report it.

6. Moderation

Content is checked first by software (word lists, random character strings, pace, malicious links, consistency with the age label) and then by people. A refusal always has a code and a reason shown in your language; content that fails is not published, and content removed later gets an explanation in the profile and by e-mail. For violations we apply, in order: a warning, pre-moderation, a temporary posting block, account closure. A third serious violation within a year closes the account. We keep a register of moderation decisions: date, reason, outcome of the appeal.

7. Reports and appeals (Digital Services Act)

You can report any content with the button next to a post or on the Report a violation page. A credible report of illegal content leads to removal within 24 hours, or immediately when there is no doubt. The author receives the reasoning and may appeal to kontakt@klyo.pl; we answer within two working days. Point of contact for authorities and users: kontakt@klyo.pl. We limit reports that are manifestly unfounded and repeated in bad faith.

8. Ads and cookies

Next to games and in the service we show Google AdSense ads from klyo's account. We ask for consent to personalised ads before the first ad; you can change the settings any time in the footer. Accounts under 18 and games rated up to 12 get non-personalised ads only. No ads stand next to 18+ games. Nobody else may place ads in games or posts.

Cookies. Signing in sets one cookie that remembers your session — without it the account does not work, so it is part of the service, not a consent. Advertising cookies are asked about separately, because consent must be freely given: accepting these terms is not consent to ads, and refusing consent takes nothing away from you. You can change or withdraw it with the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. What exactly stays in your browser is described in the privacy policy.

9. What klyo is responsible for, and what you are

Games and posts come from users; klyo stores and serves them, checks them automatically and acts on reports under the Digital Services Act, but is not their author. You are responsible for the content you add. The service is provided as it is: we work on continuity but do not guarantee that every game works on every device or that scores and progress never get lost; save what matters. We are not responsible for pages linked by users nor for Google Play and the App Store. Nothing here limits the rights consumer protection law gives you.

10. Complaints

Send a complaint about the service to kontakt@klyo.pl, describing what happened and when. We answer within 14 days. An EU consumer may also use out-of-court dispute resolution, for example the European Commission's ODR platform.

11. Changes and governing law

We announce changes by e-mail to the account address at least 14 days in advance, and with a new version we ask you to accept it before your next post; if you disagree, you may delete the account. Polish law applies; disputes with a consumer go to the court competent under consumer protection rules. The binding text is the Polish version. Personal data is described in the privacy policy.
