About the game
The computer has eight levels, from a patient partner that often slips up to a strong opponent that punishes every loose piece, and its strength is set by how many positions it may calculate, not by the speed of your device. A game against it takes ten to thirty minutes, and an unfinished game waits for you when you come back. While you learn, the coach asks before a move that throws away material, and you decide whether to take it back. A hint shows one good move with an arrow, and after the game a short review marks your inaccuracies, mistakes and blunders together with the move that was better. A win with no hints and no takebacks earns a gold clean win badge, and wins unlock three more boards and two more piece sets. The walnut and brass board looks like a real study table, and the classic pieces stay readable even on a small screen. For a quick break there is a daily puzzle, the same for everyone, and 350 puzzles with mate in one, two and three moves. Every puzzle has exactly one winning first move, checked by an exact search, and the game accepts any move that still forces mate. Online you send a link or a code, or pick a quick match, and the server keeps the turns honest. Instead of a chat there are four friendly reactions, and a rematch swaps the colours. All the rules are here: castling, en passant, promotion, stalemate, threefold repetition and the fifty move rule. The game speaks ten languages and works on phones, tablets and computers, with the board, the move list and the buttons laid out for each screen.
