An itch.io alternative for when a browser game should earn

itch.io is an honest place: you set how much goes to the platform, nobody puts ads on your page, the rights stay yours. It has one gap: a free browser game earns nothing there, and you bring the traffic yourself. klyo games fills that gap and does not make you choose.

What itch.io gives you (their FAQ, 17 September 2026)

Open revenue sharing: you pick the percentage that goes to the platform. HTML5 games run in the browser on the game page. No advertisements on your pages. Payments through Stripe or PayPal. Full ownership of your content, with the right to remove it at any time.

That is a model for sales and donations. A free browser game gets a page but no revenue, and visibility depends on what you promote yourself.

What klyo games adds

We place the ads next to the game and share the revenue: 70% net for the developer, paid by bank transfer from 100 PLN. As of September 2026 the ads are not switched on yet; the share counts from the first day they run.

The game gets its own subdomain g-yourgame.klyo.pl and a catalogue page in English and Polish, with description, controls, age label and comments, that Google can index. On top: a shelf for its genre, gameplay recordings, leaderboards and cloud saves in the SDK without your own server.

You do not have to choose. You move a game from itch.io with one address: paste the link, we fetch the files and put up a copy. The itch.io page stays, klyo adds a second one.

What we do not have

Selling the game for money and donations: games on klyo are free and revenue comes from ads. If you sell your game, itch.io stays your store and klyo can be the demo with a link to buy.

Questions people ask most

Do I have to take my game off itch.io?

No. Neither side requires exclusivity. The game can live in both places, and klyo fetches the files straight from the itch.io address.

Does klyo put ads on the game page?

Eventually yes, next to the game, and it shares the revenue: 70% for the developer. Today the ads are not switched on, so the game page has none.

Do I keep the rights to my game?

Yes, just like on itch.io. You give us a non-exclusive licence to show the game; you can remove it at any time.

How do I move a game from itch.io?

In the studio choose “Move a game”, paste the address of the game page on itch.io and wait for the files. Then fill in the description and release it to the catalogue.
