About Memory
You turn over two at a time. If they match, they stay open; if not, they flip back and you remember where they were.
What counts is the number of moves, not the time. Under the board you see three numbers: moves, pairs found and your record — the fewest moves in which you uncovered every pair. The record stays on your device, so when you come back you know what to beat. A perfect game is eight moves; every mistake is one move more.
After a finished board you have two buttons: “Again” lays the same cards out once more, “New layout” shuffles them at random — different places, the same rule. So you can train your memory on a known layout or test yourself on a fresh one.
Where the difficulty is: the first flips are guesses, but from the third or fourth move everything depends on how much you remember. The skill is not to flip blindly a card whose twin you have already seen, and to start with cards you do not know yet. Play calmly and you finish in a dozen or so moves; rush and it takes over twenty.
Who it is for: children learning to focus, adults who want to clear their head for two minutes, and anyone who likes to compete with their own record. You tap a card on a phone or click it on a computer; the board is portrait and fits a phone screen without scrolling.
Do I need to install anything
No. Memory runs in the same browser tab you are reading now. There is no store download, no account and no e-mail to give. The game is free and stays free.
Your score and progress are saved on your device, not only on our server, so you see your record when you come back.
