Clips

How to record a gameplay clip with captions

Start the game and press “Record a clip” next to it. Play, then press “Save the last 30s” or “Stop”, cut the best moment, add captions from your voice or your face, and press “Post the clip”. Nothing leaves your device until you post it.

Before you start

  • On a computer you can record any game; on a phone, the games that show the record button.
  • A klyo account to post the clip. Without one you can still record and keep the clip on your device.
  • The microphone and camera are optional. The browser asks for them only when you turn them on.

Step by step

  1. Start recording

    Open a game on games.klyo.pl and press Record a clip next to the game window. Not signed in? Sign in, or choose Record without an account and keep the clip on your device. The first time, tick I have read and accept the rules and press Accept.

  2. Add your voice and face if you like

    In the recording capsule press Turn microphone on for captions from your speech and Turn camera on to put your face in the frame. Both are optional, and you can also add them later.

  3. Play and keep the moment

    Play as usual. When something great happens press Save the last 30s, or press Stop when you are done. With the option “Automatically keep the last 30s while I play” turned on, you never have to press record before the good moment.

  4. Cut the best moment

    The editor opens with a strip of frames and two handles. A clip lasts 3 to 30 seconds, and if the game marked a big moment it is already selected. Choose “Vertical” for a feed-shaped clip or “As in game” to keep the original shape.

  5. Polish the captions

    Captions from your speech appear in time with your words; tap any caption to fix it, or press Caption here to add one. Pick a “Theme”: Classic, Neon, Game or TikTok. For the second language press Translate on this device and read the result. Forgot to talk? Record voice and Record face play the clip back while you add them.

  6. Post it

    Write the caption players will see and press Post the clip. The clip goes to the community and the clip feed under your nickname. To keep a copy as a file, press Save to device.

If something goes wrong

There is no “Record a clip” button

On a phone the button appears only for games that hand over their picture, because phone browsers cannot record the screen. On a computer the browser asks you to pick the tab with the game.

The recording has no picture

Stop, start again, and pick the tab with the game when the browser asks. Games that draw with HTML are recorded from the browser tab.

There are no captions

Captions from speech need the microphone on during the recording, or a voice added later with Record voice. Without speech you can still type captions yourself.

Common questions

Does klyo keep my voice?

No. Your voice goes to our server only to be turned into text and is deleted right after. The captions stay with the clip, and you can edit them before posting.

What happens to swear words in my clip?

They are covered with a short tone in the finished clip and disappear from the captions.
