Privacy policy of the app
2048 Blockfall · com.routence.blockfall2048 · Last updated: 27 September 2026
2048 Blockfall saves ordinary progress locally and, depending on the version, with the Facebook player or Klyo account. The shared competition uses the Klyo server. Google Play and App Store apps have separate advertising, analytics and purchase features described below.
Who we are
2048 Blockfall is published by Routence. If you have any question about this policy or about the game, write to krastranseu@gmail.com.
What the app stores
The game keeps a small amount of information in your device's local storage so that your progress is not lost when you close it:
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress — score, best runs, gems, skins unlocked with in-game gems, rank, settings | So you can continue where you stopped | Locally; Facebook also uses the Meta player save, Klyo uses the Klyo account save |
| A background photo, if you choose one | To draw it behind the board | Stays on your device |
About the background photo
The game lets you pick a photo from your device to use as a background. When you do:
- the photo is chosen through your system picker — the app never browses your gallery and holds no permission to do so;
- it is resized on your device and kept in local storage;
- it is never uploaded, transmitted or shared;
- you can remove it at any time in Settings → Your own background → Remove.
Ads
The Google Play version of the game is free and paid for by advertising. Ads are delivered by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited).
Nothing is ever placed over the board while you play. There are exactly three formats, and all three appear outside the game itself:
- a rewarded video you choose to watch in exchange for a bonus. Nothing in the game forces you to watch one, and if no video is available you still get the bonus;
- a full-screen ad between rounds, shown at most once every five minutes, only after a game you actually played, and never during your first two finished games;
- a banner strip at the bottom of the end-of-game screen and of the menu — that is, only while the board is already covered. It never appears during play, it appears a moment after the screen opens rather than under your finger, and the layout keeps a gap between it and the buttons.
The one-off purchase “No ads between rounds” removes both the full-screen ad and the banner, permanently. Rewarded videos stay, because you decide each time whether to watch one.
To select, deliver and measure those ads, Google's advertising SDK collects and processes, on its own account:
- your device's advertising ID (a resettable identifier) and, on newer Android versions, an app-set ID;
- technical data about the device and connection — model, Android version, language, and an approximate location derived from the IP address;
- data about the ads themselves — which ad was shown, whether it was clicked or watched to the end.
This data goes to Google, not to us. We do not see it, do not store it and do not sell it; we only receive anonymous, aggregated earnings figures. Google acts as an independent controller of that data — its use is described in Google Privacy & Terms and in how Google uses data in AdMob.
Your control: in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads you can reset or delete your advertising ID. Ads will still appear, but they stop being personalised. Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent screen (Google's Consent Management Platform) before the first ad; your choice — to allow personalised ads or to refuse them — is remembered on your device. You can reopen that screen at any time from Settings → Ad privacy settings inside the game.
Analytics (Android, iPhone and iPad apps)
From version 1.8.1 the Android app and the iPhone and iPad app use Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service, to count how the game is used: app starts and sessions, when a game starts and ends and with what score, which screens are opened, which ad offers are shown and how they end, and whether a purchase went through. It is sent together with a random identifier of this installation, the device model, the system version and an approximate country, which Google works out from the connection. It contains no name, e-mail address, contacts or location, and we cannot tell who you are from it.
The advertising identifier is added only where the system allows it: on iPhone and iPad only if you allowed tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency question; on Android only while the device has an advertising ID, which you can reset or delete at any time in the system settings (Privacy → Ads or Google → Ads, depending on the phone). In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland analytics follows the choice you make in the privacy message the game shows: without consent to storing information on your device, events are sent without any identifier. Google keeps this data for at most 14 months and handles it as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. The web and Facebook versions do not use analytics.
Facebook, Klyo and the shared weekly competition
This section applies when you use the shared weekly competition in Blockfall on Facebook or Klyo. It does not enable server competitions in an older Android or iOS build. The ordinary game and its locally earned gems remain separate from competitive attempts.
Who operates the service
The game is published as Routence; game contact: krastranseu@gmail.com. The shared server service is operated by Klyo Illia Krasnopolskyi, NIP 7822656871, Poland; privacy contact: kontakt@klyo.pl. The Klyo portal privacy policy also explains its accounts, infrastructure providers and technical backups.
Identity and saved progress
On Facebook, the game uses the Instant Games SDK to read and save game progress for the Facebook player. For the shared competition it sends a recent signed player proof to Klyo. Klyo verifies it and derives a pseudonymous player key; the raw Facebook player ID and proof are not stored in the league tables. On Klyo, the server uses your signed-in Klyo account. The league does not automatically merge Facebook and Klyo accounts. Your Klyo game save follows the Klyo account; your Facebook save follows the Facebook player.
What the competition stores and why
To provide the competition you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), the server stores the game and rules version, pseudonymous player key or Klyo account reference, public alias, edition, random seed, selected columns, game state, calculated score, operation identifier, start and update times and whether a run has finished. The server derives the score from valid moves. Repeated network requests must not create duplicate results. We do not collect your contacts or copy your Facebook profile photo into the competition database. We also store the in-game star rank reported at the start of an attempt. It is a cosmetic badge and does not affect scoring or ordering.
What other players see
The shared table is public across Facebook and Klyo: alias, score, leaderboard position, in-game star rank attached to the result (if known), edition and acceptance time. Facebook participants receive a neutral alias; Klyo participants use their Klyo alias. The table does not expose your email, raw Facebook ID, account number or move history. People can copy public results or share images outside the service.
Optional publication of an ordinary game record
Ordinary game saves are private. Players aged 16 or older may choose “Publish my record” and consent to a public alias, ordinary-game best score and current star rank, including updates (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We record the consent version and time and the declared age eligibility, not a date of birth. We do not publish your board, gems, email or photo. The score comes from the client save, is not replay-verified and does not count towards the tournament. “Hide my record” withdraws consent and removes the score from the board; subsequent automatic uploads from an old tab cannot restore it. “Delete my ranking data” also erases tournament attempts and the consent record. Private play remains available without publication. An ordinary public record or its hidden status is removed no later than 730 days after acceptance of the best score or its hiding.
Retention and deletion
Run state and move history are removed by the daily cleanup after 90 days without an update. The table retains the current week and up to 52 previous weeks; the all-time competitive best remains until deletion. In the competition window, Privacy and my data lets you download your league records and delete your league runs and results. Deletion affects the live database and both weekly and all-time tables, but not your ordinary game save. Deleting a Klyo account also deletes its league records. Technical backups follow Klyo’s backup lifecycle and are not used to display deleted scores.
Transport and providers
Connections to Klyo use HTTPS/WSS. Hosting and edge-security providers process the connection data needed to deliver and protect the service, including your IP address. Meta separately processes Facebook sessions, cloud saves, social actions and advertising under its own privacy policy. The game may request Meta ads when the platform makes them available; an approval or ad impression is not guaranteed. Klyo competition moves are not sent to AdMob.
Sharing and notifications
A share window, score image or copy-link control opens only after you choose to share. You choose recipients and can cancel. Joining the league does not subscribe you to a new promotional notification campaign. Local reminders in installed apps and existing Klyo account notification preferences remain separate.
Your choices and rights
You can choose ordinary play without joining the league. Identity and move data are needed to participate in the shared ranking. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object where processing relies on legitimate interests, subject to the applicable legal conditions. Contact kontakt@klyo.pl for the shared service or the publisher for game-specific matters. You may complain to your data protection authority, including Poland’s UODO. Deleting league records does not by itself delete data independently held by Meta or Google.
Further policies
Klyo: https://games.klyo.pl/privacy/ . Meta: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ . Native Android and iOS advertising, analytics and purchases are described in the other sections of the game’s published privacy policy.
The iPhone and iPad version (App Store)
2048 Blockfall is also published on the App Store. The game itself is the same one you get on Android: in the current native app the ordinary save remains on your device. Three things work differently, because on Apple's platform Apple handles them.
Purchases. The optional one-off purchases (removing ads between rounds, the coach, the bundle of both) are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see and never store your payment details, your Apple Account e-mail or your name. Apple takes the payment and tells the app only which of its three products this Apple Account owns — nothing more, and nothing about the purchase is sent to us or to anyone else.
Restoring purchases. A purchase belongs to your Apple Account, not to any account of ours, so it follows you to a new iPhone or to a fresh install. At the bottom of the Shop screen there is a “Restore purchases” button; tapping it asks Apple to re-check what that Apple Account owns. Apple may ask you to sign in first — that window belongs to Apple, the password goes to Apple, and the app never sees it. What comes back to the app is only a yes/no answer for each of the three products.
Ads and tracking. The iPhone and iPad version shows ads from Google AdMob, exactly like the Android app (see Ads above). Before anything may use the advertising identifier, iOS shows Apple's own App Tracking Transparency question. If you decline — or never answer it — the game keeps working and the ads are then served without that identifier. You can change the answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and switch personalised ads off system-wide in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising. The one-off “No ads between rounds” purchase removes the ads altogether.
Analytics. From version 1.8.1 the iPhone and iPad app uses Google Analytics for Firebase exactly as described in Analytics above — the advertising identifier only after you allow tracking.
The rating request on iPhone and iPad is Apple's own system dialog. It is the system that decides whether to show it; we are never told what you rated, or whether you rated at all.
Because that version is distributed by Apple, Apple's own Privacy Policy applies to the App Store, to the payment and to your Apple Account, alongside this one.
Reminders (notifications)
The game can remind you to come back — for example when the daily streak you have built is about to reset. These reminders are entirely local: your phone schedules them for itself and shows text the game prepared before you left, in your language. There is no server, no push service, no account and no identifier involved; nothing about you leaves the device, and we do not learn whether a reminder was shown or opened.
On Android 13 and newer the system asks for your permission before the first reminder — the game requests it only after you collect a daily bonus for the first time, never on launch. You can withdraw it at any moment in Android Settings → Apps → 2048 Blockfall → Notifications; the game keeps working exactly the same without them.
What we do not do
- The web and Facebook versions use no analytics; the Android, iPhone and iPad apps use only Google Analytics for Firebase, as described above. Apart from that and the Google ad SDK, the app contains no tracking software.
- Optional in-app purchases (for example, removing ads) are handled entirely by the store the app came from — Google Play's billing system on Android, Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad. We never see or store your payment details — Google processes the payment and only tells us that the purchase succeeded. There are no loot boxes and no random paid items. Gems and skins are earned by playing.
- After a finished game the app may show the store's own rating dialog — Google Play's on Android, Apple's on iPhone and iPad. It is displayed by the store, not by us: we send it no data, we are never told what you rated or whether you rated at all, and nothing in the game is given or withheld depending on it.
- The Invite friends button only opens your device's own share sheet with a link to the game. We do not read your contacts, and we do not learn whom you sent it to.
- We do not sell or share your personal information for money.
The app requests internet access only so that ads can be loaded, and
VIBRATEfor haptic feedback. Your saved games, settings and background photo are never sent anywhere.
How long data is kept, and how to delete it
Local data can be deleted in device settings, and the background photo in game settings. Uninstalling alone does not delete account-linked saves or server results. Export and delete league data from the competition window as explained above. Contact the publisher for other game data; Klyo account settings also provide account controls.
Children
The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the Google Play and App Store versions show ads, parents should know that Google's ad SDK receives the advertising ID as described above; on devices signed in with a child account, or where the user is identified as a child, Google restricts ad serving and does not deliver personalised ads.
Your rights
You can choose ordinary play without joining the league. Identity and move data are needed to participate in the shared ranking. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object where processing relies on legitimate interests, subject to the applicable legal conditions. Contact kontakt@klyo.pl for the shared service or the publisher for game-specific matters. You may complain to your data protection authority, including Poland’s UODO. Deleting league records does not by itself delete data independently held by Meta or Google.
Security
The device operating system protects local data. Klyo connections use HTTPS/WSS encryption and player-specific access controls. No system can be considered completely immune to security risks.
Changes to this policy
If the way the game handles data changes — for example if a new advertising partner is added — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
