About BRITBOX: Choose Your Brit
Eight very British brawlers settle their differences in best-of-three matches, in the pub, at the chippy, by the seaside, on a farm, on a campus and on a brand new housing estate.
Every fighter is a joke you will recognise. Kev hogs the middle lane in his hatchback and swings a huge battered sausage. Deano the property salesman hits you with a wave of pound signs and a shared ownership contract. Adrian fires off a strongly worded letter and spins a canvas tote bag. Bazza lets out eight pints of bitter in one burp and lands a belly flop that shakes the ground. Darren rides in on a moped, Oliver throws petition clipboards, Mikey blinds you with a ring light, and Stuart charges with a tractor and tosses sheep.
Under the jokes is a real fighter. You block high and low, throw opponents who hide behind their guard, link combos and build a meter for one big super move. Four difficulty levels run from A Gentle Pint up to Mental, where the computer jumps over your fireballs and throws you out of a block.
Play the arcade mode against the computer, fight a friend on the same keyboard, find a rival in online versus, or sit back and watch two computer players go at it. A gamepad works too, and on a phone held sideways you get an on-screen pad. The humour is rude in a daft way: expect insults, beer jokes and cartoon violence, so the game is meant for older teenagers and adults.
