Fun, chaotic and hard to put down I started Void Survivors to kill five minutes and ended up playing for an hour. The ship fires on its own, so it’s all about moving, dodging and picking the right upgrade each level. Combining abilities until they evolve is really satisfying, and the bosses are the highlight: each one has its own attacks, with clear warning zones before they hit, so when you die it feels fair. Boss Rush gives you a good reason to keep going. It runs smoothly on my phone too, just drag your finger to move. Great little space shooter, I’ll be back for Endless mode.

About Void Survivors
Your ship fires on its own at the closest target, so your job is to move, dodge and choose the right upgrades.
How a run works
Every wave lasts 30 seconds and brings more enemies than the one before. Crystals dropped by defeated enemies fill your experience bar, and each level up lets you pick one of three abilities, such as homing lasers, drone swarms, energy shields, gravity waves or an antimatter bomb. Some abilities evolve into stronger forms when you combine them with the right passive item. A full run in Normal mode takes about 20 minutes, and every few waves a boss shows up.
Bosses and game modes
There are eight cosmic bosses and each one has four or five attacks of its own. Every attack is announced by a warning zone or line before it hits, so you can read it and get out of the way, and below half health each boss switches to a faster second phase. Reach wave 5 to unlock Boss Rush, where you fight all eight bosses in a row, and wave 40 to unlock Endless mode.
Between runs
The coins and diamonds you collect stay with you. Spend them on permanent upgrades and unlock more than twenty ships, each one starting with its own weapon. Daily rewards, missions and achievements give you a goal for every session.
