Spider Solitaire rules

Place a card on another card that is one rank higher. A column may contain mixed suits, but only an ordered sequence of the same suit can move together. A complete same suit sequence from king to ace leaves the tableau. Remove eight sequences to win.

Dealing from the stock places a new card on each of the ten columns. Fill empty columns before dealing. Use free space to organise your sequences first, then draw another row when you are ready.

One suit, two suits or four suits?

One suit is a useful starting point. Ordered sequences are easier to move, allowing you to focus on uncovering cards. Two suits require more separation and planning. Four suits increase the challenge because mixed sequences often block cards you need. Choose your variant before starting a deal.

Why can I not move this whole sequence?

Check both rank order and suits. Two cards can legally sit together while belonging to different suits, but you cannot move that mixed sequence as a single group. Transfer part of it to another column to separate the cards. Hint helps you find an available move, and Undo returns to an earlier arrangement.

Spider Solitaire strategy tips

Uncover face down cards and prefer matching suit sequences when you have a choice. Use empty columns as temporary workspace. Avoid filling one with a king before considering what the move achieves. Inspect all columns before drawing, because the next row covers every exposed top card.

Daily deals and saved games

The daily deal gives players a shared layout to try. You can also start an ordinary game at your preferred difficulty. Unfinished play is saved, statistics record your progress, and undo and hints remain available. When the Finish button appears, it can complete the remaining ordered moves.

Controls, sounds and table collection

Drag cards with your finger or mouse, or tap to use a suitable move. Separate Sounds and Music buttons remain beside the table. Listen to card effects alone or keep music without effects; the game remembers your choices.

Preview table materials and card backs in the collection. Light and dark themes and a four colour deck help you choose a readable appearance. Changing the design preserves the current deal, and the device's reduced motion preference limits animations.
