Play Golf Solitaire free online, instantly in your browser and with nothing to download, on a phone, tablet or computer. The name has nothing to do with the sport: it is scored like golf, because the fewer cards left on the table, the better. A game takes 2 to 5 minutes, which makes it a perfect puzzle for a short break.

Golf Solitaire rules

The deck has 52 cards. Seven columns of five face-up cards lie on the table, one card starts the pile and 16 cards wait in the stock. You only take the top card of each column and place it on the pile when it is one higher or one lower than the top card, whatever the suit. On a 7 you can play a 6 or an 8, then a 7 or a 9 on that 8. When nothing fits, tap the stock and its card starts a new pile. You win when the table is empty.

How to play: classic and easy mode

In classic mode nothing goes on a king and the ace and king do not connect, so a king on the pile always ends your run. In easy mode the ace and king connect: you may play an ace or a queen on a king, and a king or a two on an ace. Classic scores one and a half times more points. The daily deal is the same for every player, and the game counts how many days in a row you have finished it.

Points and runs

Every card from the table scores points, and each card you take in a row without drawing scores more, because your run keeps growing. If you clear the table with cards still in the stock, each of them adds a bonus, and a fast win adds a time bonus. Your score goes on the klyo leaderboard.

Golf Solitaire strategy

Before you play a card, look where it leads: the best move is the one that uncovers another card that fits. Look for long chains up and down, such as 5, 6, 5, 4, 3. Do not rush to the stock, because every stock card breaks your run. In classic mode, save kings for the end of a run. The hint counts the longest run you can see on the table and never peeks at the hidden stock. Every deal from the table was cleared beforehand by a solver, so it can be won.

Play on phone and computer

Tap a card and it flies to the pile by itself, or drag it with your finger or mouse. The stock and pile sit at the bottom, right under your thumb, and the columns fill the rest of the screen, so the cards are big and easy to read. If a move is not allowed, the game tells you why. Undo, hints, statistics, light and dark themes and 10 languages come with every mode.
